A life coach is a wellness professional who collaborates with individuals to help them make progress in their lives, ultimately leading to greater fulfillment. These professionals offer guidance and support in areas such as relationships, careers, and day-to-day living. Through structured conversations, goal-setting techniques, and motivational strategies, life coaches provide a roadmap for personal growth catered to each client's unique needs.
Mom to two little boys, Marketing & communications director at Bridgeway & Archway Mental Health Clinics in Kansas City, animal lover.
As a certified life coach, my mission is to guide individuals toward their highest potential by offering tailored support in organization, problem solving, goal setting, and communication. Over the years, my professional journey has enabled me to serve in diverse fields such as customer service and mental healthcare, both of which have enriched my toolkit with practical strategies for conflict resolution and de-escalation. These skills form the backbone of my coaching practice, allowing me to create a safe, empathetic, and empowering environment for each of my clients.
I like to think of myself as a "Friend for Hire."
I believe that every individual possesses innate strengths, wisdom, and resilience. My role as a coach is to act as a mirror and a guide, illuminating pathways forward while honoring the lived experiences and aspirations of my clients. I approach each session with curiosity, openness, and a commitment to non-judgmental support. Together, we co-create a vision for your future and develop the strategies needed to achieve it. This creates fluidity in our sessions.
While both life coaches and therapists seek to improve their clients' lives, they do so in different ways. Therapy typically focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health issues, using clinical tools to address past traumas and emotional difficulties. Life coaching, on the other hand, is future-focused, emphasizing personal and professional development. Life coaches do not address mental health conditions; instead, they work on setting and achieving goals, enhancing personal growth, and fostering motivation. A Life Coach is not a trained medical professional, such as a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist. While an experienced Life Coach does usually have training, certifications and education that may overlap, they cannot diagnose or treat mental illness.
Every client requires different strategies, and sometimes clients' needs vary from session to session. I offer virtual sessions, text and email packages, in person at my home office, in person at my clinic office, and anywhere necessary for specific goals to be met.
There will be a confidentiality and safety agreement signed after the initial consultation. Because A Life Coach is not a licensed medical professional, insurance is not accepted. A 10% deposit is required to book appointments after the consultation. Each clients recommended session plan is non-contractual and may be terminated at any time by Coach or Client.
